After the Rainfall Quilt

Justin Ming Yong is a Toronto-based artist whose quilt-making practice explores an unconventional, modern approach.

"The piece is made from fabric scraps collaged together to create the patchwork top. It is then quilted using two different methods. One being machine quilted lines and the other a very traditional method of quilt ties which have been selected as very bold contrasting colour to really be shown. The mix of methods is an important part of the design of this work as well as important to the integrity of the quilt itself. " - Justin Ming Yong
