Orcas, known as killer whales, are toothed whales and are the largest member of the oceanic dolphin family. They are highly social, and many of their populations are composed of matrilineal family groups, pods, which are considered to the most stable of any animal species. Orcas can typically range from 6 to 8 metres in length. They apex predators and have no natural predators. Their diet consists of fish, and often squid, mammals and seabirds.
