The giraffe is the tallest living land animal. As it chows down on leaves from tall African trees, it fears almost no predators. Giraffes grow up to 20 feet tall!

  • History: Other than lions, giraffes don’t have much to fear when they reach adulthood. Their height lets them see an ambush from far away, and their legs can deliver powerful kicks. Their necks are also formidable weapons, especially when male giraffes fight with each other for the affections of a female.
