Pikaia & Vauxia Model Set

These are detailed, museum grade models (150 mm long, 120 mm high - scale 3:1) that have been created by paleoartist Bruce Currie using state of the art 3D printing technology. After initial printing the models undergo secondary processes that enhances surface quality, accentuate colouration and provide protection against UV damage and handling. These models also receive a small amount of hand finishing before being packaged.

Pikaia gracilens is an extinct basal chordate from the Middle Cambrian period (505 ma) which grew up to 50 mm in length. This model accurately displays the internal organ structure of Pikaia gracilens.

Vauxia gracilenta is an extinct sponge-like organism from the Cambrian period. It had a distinctive branching morphology and lived on the Cambrian seabed occupying the same environmental niche as modern sponges.
