The beluga whale, also known as the white whale, is the only cetacean to occur in the colour white, also called the sea canary due to its high-pitched calls. They inhabit Arctic and sub-Arctic waters and migrate seasonally, travelling as far as 6,000 km annually. Belugas are the most abundant toothed whales in the Arctic Ocean. Male belugas can grow up to 5.5 meters in length.
